A letter from Pastor Shaun Olsen
"Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself." Ephesians 2:20 NLT
Paul continues on in the book of Ephesians stating that every believer — regardless of talent or skill, Jew or Gentile, male or female — is saved by the same faith, in the same God, and that we are all part of a single, universal family of believers in Jesus Christ; that which is one body, the church.
When asked, “Why did Venture Church and New River Worship Center join together?” I can think of no better answer than what Paul stated in Ephesians: Two churches became one church because, simply put, we are better together. Churches are not meant to compete with one another, but to complete one another. By blending Venture Church and New River Worship Center together, we will:
− Better serve the needs of our community
− Better exemplify the love of God
− Reach more people who do not know Jesus
We desire to multiply the impact of this union and create an even more vibrant life-giving congregation. Much like draft horses, two horses pulling together can't pull twice as much as one... They can actually pull three times as much. The two draft horses that can each pull 8,000 pounds alone can pull 24,000 pounds working together. Through the joining of Venture Church and New River Worship Center, as one, we will ultimately accomplish more for the Kingdom of God!
Effective Christmas Eve, New River Worship Center will absorb into Venture Church and become one body. I will maintain my Lead Pastor role while Pastor Barry will step into a Discipleship Pastor position — equipping, teaching and encouraging spiritual growth and maturity. The newly joined church will meet on Sunday mornings for the first time on December 27, 2020 with gatherings 9:15am and 11:00am. Childcare will be provided at our 9:15am and 11:00am gatherings, and all are welcome to attend.
All of our in-person gatherings will be held at 3775 Argent Boulevard (just off Highway 170) in Ridgeland, SC. You can visit our website at venturesc.org or follow us on Instagram (@venture_sc) and Facebook (at Venture Church) to stay up-to-date with all of the exciting things that God is doing RIGHT NOW at Venture!
We aren’t like family... we are family. Thank you for being a part of this historic season at Venture Church!
